What it means to be Chartered

Ravenhall Achieve Chartered Status

What it means to be Chartered:

Ravenhall Risk Solutions are an Independent, Chartered Insurance Broker. It takes a commitment to be Chartered, and a commitment to an ethos which embeds how we work with our clients, colleagues and insurer partners. Within this short article, we hope to give you a little bit more information as to what it means to be a Chartered Insurance Broker, as well as why it’s important.

The central aim of the Chartered ethos is to increase public trust in our profession. It is a symbol of technical competence and says that as a business, Ravenhall Risk Solutions will act in their customer’s best interests. We display our Chartered badge with pride as this serves as a mark of trust for those around us. At Ravenhall Group, we invest in our people and ensure that they also align their business values to the professional code of ethics set out by the Institute. To read the Chartered Institute of Insurance Broker’s Code of Ethics, click here – CII Code of ethics

The five core duties in the code of ethics:

  1. You must comply with this Code and all relevant laws and regulations
  2. You must act with the highest ethical standards and integrity
  3. You must act in the best interests of each client
  4. You must provide a high standard of service
  5. You must treat people fairly regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion and belief, sex and sexual orientation

Director, Neil Grimshaw says “When Chartered Status was launched by the CII we knew that achieving this status was our goal, we managed to do this within a year of its Launch and have maintained these standards for over a decade. As a team, we strive for excellence, build partnerships with our clients, and commit to go above and beyond. The team lives by these values, and Chartered Status advertises this to our customers and partners”

The Chartered Status:

The Chartered status covers 4 corporate titles: Financial Planners, Insurers, Insurance Brokers, and Insurance Underwriting Agents. As an individual, you’re able to view and find Chartered businesses in your area by searching here. On the Chartered Insurance Institute website, you can see a section called ‘why’ choose a Chartered Insurance Broker, they say “Quite simply, it’s about dealing with a professional. Chartered insurance brokers have made a joint public commitment with the CII to deliver the highest standards of professionalism, then placed a public badge on that commitment.”
